Dr. Teerapong Panboonyuen, widely known as “Dr. Kao,” is a distinguished researcher in Artificial Intelligence. He currently serves as the Principal Researcher at MARSAIL (Motor AI Recognition Solution Artificial Intelligence Laboratory), a leading research laboratory that integrates AI technologies with the automotive and insurance industries.

In the realm of academic pursuits, Dr. Kao completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at Chulalongkorn University in just two and a half years, supported by the 100th Anniversary Doctoral Scholarship and the 90th Anniversary Scholarship of the University. Prior to this, he earned his Master’s degree in the same discipline within only one and a half years under the 72nd Birthday Anniversary Graduate Scholarship of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Completing his doctoral degree at the age of 27, Dr. Kao’s academic trajectory exemplifies exceptional aptitude, dedication, and scholarly rigor.

Dr. Kao has also been awarded the highest-level postdoctoral fellowship under the Second Century Fund (C2F – Track A) for high-potential researchers, supporting AI research with global impact. Moreover, he is among the select Thai researchers to receive the prestigious Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) 2025 scholarship, graciously conferred by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, underscoring his recognition at an international level.

His research expertise encompasses advanced areas of Computer Vision, including object recognition, scene understanding, and semantic interpretation, as well as Geospatial Intelligence, employing satellite and aerial imagery to support spatially informed decision-making. Additionally, he places strong emphasis on Human–AI Interaction, forming the foundation for AI systems capable of understanding and interacting naturally with humans. With his profound contributions and visionary approach, Dr. Kao is recognized as a rising figure in the global AI research community.
